On August 29, 2022, the United States Mint announced the designs for the 2023 American Women Quarters™ Program on NBC TODAY and my design for Bessie Coleman was selected from nine candidates to appear on a US quarter.
Bessie Coleman was the first African and Native American woman to receive a pilot license and her likeness is the first of five honorees to be released into general circulation in January 2023.
